Artist Bio: Gia Chkhatarashvili was born in 1959 in Georgia. He graduated from Tbilisi State University’s Faculty of Philosophy in 1983. Chkhatarashvili became interested in photography during his school years and first exhibited his works in Germany in 1991.

Since then he organized 17 personal and 25 group photo exhibitions in Georgia and abroad.

His photo series “Ushguli” is a winner of “Fifty Crows” Foundation (San Francisco) in 2004. Chkhatarashvili partnered with a number of international organizations, including WFP, NRC, DRC, and with a German magazine “Wostok”.

Chkhatarashvili currently lives and works in Tbilisi as a freelance photographer.
