Our eyes are on the world, each of us from a different perspective. Photography gives you a chance to see a frame, a small piece, of someone else’s world. What did the artist include, what did they exclude? What is communicated and what is left free for interpretation?
Fotografia is a gallery, and a vehicle for connection, connection between artists and audience and between myriad communities linked to photography. We have a geography, which is partly about Tbilisi, and wider Georgia, and the wider Caucasus, and the even wider Black Sea region—and partly about an approach to an artistic medium, with our own rather Luddite and analog friendly lens—photography as craft.
This zine is a small effort to grow our mission. We will post regular articles about the gallery and its community, feature guest pieces by or about artists and friends, and even explore photography, styles, kit, and approaches. It might be a little anarchic, evolving. We may feature some interviews, some reviews of other projects. Here we will meander about things that interest us, growing from the gallery and its work.
