David Grigoryan was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1987. In 1993, following the end of the civil war in Tbilisi, he moved with his family to Odessa, Ukraine. At the age of 16, he began experimenting with film photography, first by borrowing a camera and soon after acquiring his own. Since then, photography has remained his constant medium of expression.

Grigoryan primarily works on solo projects, exploring themes through the lens of film. He is currently based in Tbilisi, Georgia.
